Trick or Treat!!! Good things happen to those who wait!

It was a yucky and cold rainy night for trick or treating with the nephews but nice to spend time with the adorable faces!

AND I got some good news today…  Just proof that good things really do happen to those that wait!  Patience pays off…  Not to say that I haven’t stressed and fretted while waiting but now I can breathe a wee little bit easier. :)

Typically I’m not a big fan of Mondays AT ALL but… today takes the cake of being the absolute BEST Monday I can even remember.

So if you’re wondering or waiting or trying to figure things out for yourself… be patient.

Enjoy all the little things like those adorable little faces up above.

Your time will come.  You don’t know when.  You don’t know how.  But, it will…

First Ever Five Question Friday

1. Do you prefer cotton, silk, or flannel sheets?
I’m a cotton sheet gal all the way, every day.  The only time I purchased flannel sheets was when I lived in an older home that had no insulation, old windows and a gas furnace.   I  kept my thermostat set REALLY, really low to save on the heating bill!  Now living on the 3rd floor of an apartment building I don’t have to turn my heat on until December. :)

2. What time zone are you in?
My neck of the woods is located in the Eastern Time Zone.  I can NEVER keep the time zones straight.  One of my best friends lives in Washington and I can never remember the time difference… I ALWAYS end up calling her during her work day.  Luckily I’ve stopped myself from calling her at the butt crack of dawn.  A couple of times it’s come very close!

3. What is your favorite part of the holiday season?
Everything about it!  I love the music…. the decorations… making gifts… wrapping gifts… the food… family get-togethers… I LOVE IT ALL!!!  Thanksgiving night I usually start putting up all my decorations, but this year I have to work the day after so I will most likely have to wait until Saturday.

4. What is your favorite “wintry” drink? (It doesn’t have to be an “alcoholic” drink!)
I am not much of a hot drink person…. I LOVE the way coffee smells but can’t fathom the taste of it.  I’ve tried flavored coffee & creamers and it just doesn’t make a difference.  I do love hot chocolate with TONS of marshmallows.  My everyday go to is hot tea… The Earl Grey K-Cups for the Keurig at work are fabulous!!!  But my favorite “wintry” drink would have to be Kahlua and cream…. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

5. In your opinion, what is the worst job in the world?
This is a toughy…. For me I would have to say anything dealing with blood, guts, gore or bodily fluids…. So I’m thinking that while being a zoo keeper would be pretty cool, the cleaning up afterwards wouldn’t be too good.  I could never be a doctor or a nurse even though I love helping people because of all the “stuff”.  I could never be the person that has to deal with road kill (if there is even anyone that does that)… and as the lovely RNP pointed out, dealing with port-a-potties would be a pretty “crappy” job.    The worst though…. for me… would be a Funeral Director or Mortician.  Couldn’t be around that sadness all the time.

I’m a Rappin’ Mummy?!?!

I got a lovely surprise today and very much-needed chuckle from the darling Tinkerbelle

It seems as though I am now a rappin’ mummy right alongside two of my best bloggin’ buddies!

Check out the video Tink made and then go check out her blog at Laughter is Catching!

Safe trick -or- treating to all and make sure the little kiddies are safe too!

Faces

Adorable faces...

These adorable faces.

The faces that bring me smiles, laughs, happiness, joy, worry, tears and headaches.

Sometimes those little faces are musha faces or cranky faces yet are still make me smile faces.

Cheek pinching faces and snuggles and hugs and kisses faces.

I just love the nephew faces.  Each and every one.

Your face can tell someone everything about you in a minute… Expressions, gestures, looks… all unbeknownst to you.

Faces tell you how others feel.  What people think.  They can help you discover someone’s opinion without ever having to say a word.

Faces greet you with warmth and gentleness…  anger or dis-contentedness.

You can learn things you never wanted to know just by one look…  Their face says it all.

You can find out every little thing you need to know just by one look… Their face says it all.

Consolation, congratulations, confrontation, celebrations… a face can say it all.

But over all I still prefer these incredibly adorable… melt my heart faces.

I may be many things, BUT…

I’m not a seamstress…

I am an “artsy” person.

Paper crafts. Painting. Doodles.  Writing.  Poetry. Music. Upholstery.

I have piddled with minor sewing projects… ornaments, Recovered pillow, gift bags, curtains, and even altered some clothing for Halloween costumes in the past.

Thankfully none of these projects needed to be precise in measurements & such because I can’t stitch a straight line to save my life.  I’ve tried and just can’t do it.

I do have an awesome old Kenmore sewing machine I got at an estate sale for a whopping $15.  BUT, my mum requisitioned it some time ago since she’s a busy bee making quilts. (She CAN sew in a straight line!)

I’ve seen patterns for things that I only wish I could tackle, but it’s just not meant to be.  Purse, shirts, skirts and the like.  I can’t make clothing.

AND of course… today while feeding my pinning addiction on Pinterest, I came across these beautiful shirts.

DIY shirts.  The problem being I can’t do it myself.

Sooooo….. who’s gonna make ‘em for me?!?  ;)

Ummmmm, yes please!  Love each of the styles…. Love all of the colors.  I want them!

THANK YOU More Design Please for making my brain spin with all the awesomeness I spied on your site.

Actually, this website has a TON of fabulous things to take a gander at… Food, Art, Decor &  DIY projects of all sorts.  Let’s just say it is bookmarked and presently occupying several tabs on my browser screen… even as I should be in bed but can’t stop the addiction of peeking at all the goodies this site has to offer!

So to all my fellow “artsy” peeps… the painters, the DIY-ers, the writers, etc.  take a peek and see what you think!  I’m thinking you won’t be disappointed!

And to the seamstresses out there…. I’ll be your guinea pig model if you wanna give these shirts a try!  Just sayin’
