Trust the path you’re on

Sometimes you just simply need to have faith and trust that the path you’re on is exactly where you’re supposed to be. It’s not always easy, but it’s the way…

The last few weeks have been quite a challenge… From surgery to balancing all of life’s responsibilities to making sense of relationships to deciding where I should go and what I should do.

This quote was sent to me by a friend… And it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. It served as a reminder that sometimes you just have to stop what you’re doing and just live. Stop over analyzing every little thing and accept what you have.

Sometimes you have to come to the realization that you can’t always do everything. That there are limits. That you have to set limits. Sometimes the most important thing you can do is stop everything and just take care of you.

People may understand or they won’t. If they don’t then the loss is on them. Taking care of you and loving you should always come first… If you don’t do those two things, what good can you be to those of you in your life? And for the “some” that don’t get it? Do you really want those kind of people in your life?

My friend Amy, posted the above of Instagram… Yet another message received at the perfect time. Make room in your life for the right people. The people that build you up. Don’t allow others to tear you down.

Leave room enough in your heart only for those deserving and worthy. Keep the loving hearts and genuine souls close always. They’re the ones to hold near and dear no matter the day or situation.

You never know where your sunshine will come from. You never know whose day you’ll brighten. So keep a happy heart and a loving smile handy.

Trust the path you’re on. Enjoy every second of the ride and always be kind, no matter. ❤❤❤

A Little Bit of this and a whole lot of LoVE

Ok… so I know I’ve been a bit of a slacker in posting lately.  Truth be told life is just plain old insane these days.

I SHOULD be sleeping as I have a trying day tomorrow.  Having surgery AGAIN for those pesky kidney stones.  Hopefully this will do the trick.

Aside from that I’ve been busy working away at my full time job. And starting a 2nd job which I’ve not yet been able to do as of yet thanks to the pesky kidney stones.

Plus I FINALLY opened my ETSY shop!  For you long time followers, you know that was something I’ve been WANTING to do for as long as I can remember.  Well… I finally did it!!!  Here’s a peek at my store banner…

What do ya think?  I’m really liking it :)  So… if you’re feeling curious, stop on over to Mae Street Designs and see some of what I’ve been up to!  Lots more will be posted in coming days.

You know what else I’ve been up to?  Loving on my favorite band… I got to see the Dave Matthews Band perform in Pittsburgh last weekend and as always, I was left without words.  From the incredible people I spent the day with from ALL over the world ( seriously, there was a fella at our tailgate that was from Austria), to the beautiful weather to the AMAZING sounds of DMB, I couldn’t have been happier.  Image

I was PROUD to be representing the Matt Wadleigh LoVE Foundation the entire day… Spreading Matt’s message of LoVE, kindness and generosity was a huge honor.  Sharing his story truly touched my heart in ways I can’t even explain.  Matt was a HUGE DMB fan and his story has greatly touched and inspired the entire DMB Family.

Another cool thing that happened that night was this…

ImageI got to see my friend Boyd again… It had been since December and the welcome I received was just awesome.  Words don’t describe how kind and genuine this guy is.

ImageSo very lucky to be able to call him a friend.

There’s a ton more that I want to say and need to say about so many experiences I’ve had and people I’ve met in the last year.  All thanks to this music that I love.  But THAT is deserving of it’s own post in its entirety and I’m not ready to do that just now.

BUT if you would be so kind… as to help me out.  It’s a tiny favor.  A wee little favor.  I’m going to post a link… All you have to do is click the link.  Click it every day from now until June 23rd.  Every time you do it gets me one vote closer to a chance to meet Dave Matthews himself… If you know me, you know how big this is.  So PLEASE, click the link below.

HELP MEGAN MEET DAVE MATTHEWS!!!

That link right up above… go on click it.  Share it with your friends… Help a girl out.  PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!!

Hope this finds you all doing well!  I WILL be back soon… I PROMISE :)

Keep It Positive

In life there are always ups & downs, goods & bads, chances & choices.

You have the choice to say what’s on your mind either good or bad.

You have the chance to make an impact in either a positive or negative manner.

In any case, why choose anything other than being positive?

Yes, life can throw you curve balls. You can encounter people or situations who breed negativity. It’s up to you to find the positives. It’s up to you to make the choice whether you’re going to let the negativity overshadow. There’s ALWAYS something positive to be found in every situation. Sometimes it just takes a bit longer to see it or find it. Sometimes it takes a bit of creativity to bring it to light, but I firmly believe you can & will find a positive if you TRULY want to.

It doesn’t always come easy. Be persistent. Take control of what you don’t like. If you see or hear something that bothers you you can ignore it or address it.

20130519-073904.jpg

Within any given day, any given situation, you have the opportunity to voice your opinion. Say what you mean & follow through with it. Don’t say something just for the sake of saying it. If you don’t mean it, don’t say it. There’s no point in blowing smoke.

20130519-074252.jpg

Staying true to your word is a way of living. What you say is a reflection of who you are. Be genuine, be encouraging, be supportive. Think before you speak. Your words can & will always leave a lasting impression. One that sticks around long after they’re said. Sometimes when nothing is said, the message comes across more clearly. Think about it.

20130519-075052.jpg

This is where it becomes tricky. People don’t always mean what they say. I’ve learned that the hard way. Some mean it in that moment. Some say it because they think it’s what you want to hear. Some say it because they want to get something. Some say it without even thinking or realizing potential consequences. Just because you mean what you say, doesn’t mean everyone else does. At times that can be disheartening, I realize. But, as with anything in life, nothing and no one is perfect. My point is, What you say (or don’t say) and how you say it makes a difference.

I digress. Back to the original point of this post.

We only have this one life to live. It is what you make of it. You get out of it what you take from it. Look at the bright side of life and all it has to offer you.

20130519-081009.jpg

Be honest. Keep faith. Life is for living and living brightly. Life is for loving and loving wholly.

Your words reflect your actions. Your actions influence thoughts. All of which have an impact on your path which also may impact those around you. If you have the choice to keep it positive, why choose anything other than that?

“Keep your head up
Try and listen to your heart
Be kind always, no matter
We all grow up
And someday we’ll say goodbye
So shine your light while you got one”

Be kind, always no matter. Be positive, always no matter. ❤

Kind, Caring and Generous

Birthdays are special days.

Some don’t care to celebrate them.

Me? I sure do.

It’s a day to celebrate you.

It’s a special day dedicated to celebrating those you love most.

It’s a day to acknowledge what a gift life is and how much better our lives have become due to the presence of those in our lives.

Today, I’d like to wish a very happy birthday to a pretty incredible person.

An individual who gives his heart to all he encounters.

An extremely talented individual who remains humble in the midst of our insanity.

An individual who is kind, caring and generous.

A most sweet soul I had the pleasure of meeting last fall, Mr. Boyd Tinsley, violinist of the Dave Matthews Band.

My life has been warmed by the pure goodness that emanates from his heart.

Today I celebrate this kind soul as he celebrates his birthday.

Those that have met him or have had interactions with him will tell you the same… You’d be hard pressed to find another to be as kind, caring or generous than he.

20130516-071445.jpg

Happy, happy, happy birthday Boyd!

We all wish you the happiest of days & most beautiful of years!

Lotsa LoVE to you today & always!

Side note: Stay tuned for a post documenting the Boyd’s visit to Pittsburgh last fall as well as my trip to Charlottesville, Virginia

Have a beautiful day my friends! Keep the love in your heart today & always ❤

Let your light shine

Live life as bright as you can.

Smile.

Be a ray of sunshine.

You’re only as bright as you allow yourself to be. Why not be the brightest star in the sky? Why not be the brightest ray of sun?
