Live like this

I’m a big list person.

I have lists for just about every thing.

Shopping lists

To-do lists

Must-do lists

Lists for work, home & crafty projects

Lists for things I want to do & things I have to do.

This list though is one we should all take a look at, consider & incorporate into our daily adventures.

This list is an awesome list.

Read it.

Do it.

Live by it. Not just today, but everyday

Give it a shot.

Give it a go.

Happy Friday Friends!

If I had to choose of course it would be the latter, but contrary to what the title of this post leads you  to believe I am not going to yammer on about condiments. Although, now I am thinking that would make quite a spectacular topic for pondering!

For now though it’s time for some catching up!

June has proven to be quite the busy month and shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. Actually from now until my birthday at the end of July is pretty jammed up! And it’s all fun stuff which is a total bonus. 🙂

From the Barnyard Birthday bash for the littlest nephews…

To seeing Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac in a small machine setting with little bro and my dad…

To celebrating the birthday of one of my work buddies… to welcoming one of my friend/cousin’s sweet little princess into the world… to catching up with friends from college that I haven’t seen in years… the good times keep on coming!

Saturday night I got a phone call from a college friend who is in town for the week… we caught up a bit and made plans for Friday.

Sunday, I went to a baby shower for one of my old roommates from college and got to spend time with several gals I haven’t seen in ages!

It was so wonderful to see these girls!

And the “ketchup” doesn’t stop there either! Hopefully we’re going to get together in late July and this Tuesday I’ll be having dinner & drinks with another friend (and hopefully a bestie too) whom I haven’t seen in ages either!

Think it’s safe to say I’m having all kinds of “ketchup ” fun! 🙂

So that’s what’s going on with me these days….. how about you? What have you been up to?

P.S. still having issues with my phone so if you’re texting me and not getting a response, treat assured that I’m not ignoring!

Miss you all!

As always,

Absolutely AMAZING time tonight at the Avett Brothers show… They are truly THE MOST FUN show to go see.

And to me, Summer has now officially started.  Bring on the good times… good tunes and good people.

Nighty night my friends!

More weekends like this

It has been an absolutely, amazingly BEAUTIFUL weekend here! Sunny and hot with no humidity.

It has been an absolutely, unbelievably busy weekend. Flowers planted and car washed, sparkling clean.

It has been an absolutely, incredibly fun weekend that I have been looking forward to for months. Relay for Life bowling fundraiser, followed by good tunes in the sun with my lil bro at the Avett Brothers concert tonight.

They’re hard to come by, I tell ya, but I could absolutely, most definitely and assuredly use more weekends just like this one.

As always,

The Day My Heart Was Filled With More Love Than I Thought Possible…

11 years ago today I was still at Edinboro University, finishing up my 2nd to last month of undergraduate work….

I went back to living in the dorm that semester after having lived in a house with 3 of my best friends…

Me and my roomies plus Brian our shoulda been 5th roommate...

My class load was heavy… I was deep in the throes of my 2nd student teaching placement…

I worked 40 hours a week at Wood Catering Company…

Any and all free time that wasn’t already dedicated to school work was spent at the Boro Bar with my pals, at the Hockey House or  Hockey games…..

At one of MANY hockey games supporting our fellas!

or painting the town red with my Kennywood pals…

Break time!

Grove Party at the park after hours....

night out after work....

Yes, at the time I thought wearing PLEATHER pants was a good idea!

11 years ago today my nephew Brenden Shane was born…

11 years ago today my heart was filled with more love than I thought possible…

The 1 month old peanut at my graduation from Edinboro

Bringing smiles to our faces always…

Making us laugh every minute of every day…

Warming our hearts with tender moments…

The sheer pleasure we receive in watching you grow…

the always sweet, handsome, intelligent, sincere and caring young fella …

leaving me to be so proud of the AMAZINGLY AWESOME big brother you are…

and fantastically phenomenal nephew you are…

So very blessed to have you in my life B-Shane… And so very proud to call you my nephew…

EVEN more proud though I get to be called “Aunt Mae” by you… and with every time I hear you say it, I can still hear your wee little tiny voice calling me Mae Mae….

Happy 11th Birthday Brenden Shane!  I am so very proud of you and love you bunches!!!!

Five Question Friday on Saturday!

Oops! I’m a day behind….

What’s the last thing you spent too much money on?

By far my biggest purchase ever has been my car even though I’m still paying on it now and will be for a few more years.   The down payment for her (yes, my car is a she) was the largest amount of moolah I forked over to anyone at any given time for any reason.  The other thing that I am indebted to would be my school loans… BLAH!  As if my undergraduate work didn’t cost me enough, I had the idea to start graduate work a coupla years ago so there’s still lots to be paid out on those.

As far as actual physical items that I paid for in their entirety I would say that my laptop, which is now currently hooked up to an external monitor, keyboard and mouse because the backlight went in it when it was less than two years old, is the most pricey.

On a whole though, I would have to say my crafty supplies cost me a small fortune.  While I’ve accumulated them over the course of many years, each purchase has surely added up to a lofty grand total if I surmised correctly. I could seriously open my own supply shop with all that I have.  From ridiculous amounts of decorative paper to the insanely absurd amount of clear rubber stamps to all the gadgets you could think of…. I’ve got ’em.

This is only a LITTLE of my stash!!!

2. What celeb chef would you want to make you dinner?

Celeb?!?  Ummmm, I’d settle for a hot, handsome, dreamy fella cooking me dinner… doesn’t have to be a celeb.  Hell, I don’t care who it is…. Who wants to make me dinner????? Come on over!

3. Where do you hide things when visitors pop over or do you let them see the real deal?

There is no hiding my mess.  I blame it on my creative personality.  🙂 Just ask my cousin who lives next door… You may not be able to see my living room floor if I am in the middle of a crafty project…. which tends to become an issue because, well…. I am always working on a crafty project!!! 🙂

4. Who is your oldest living family member?

That would be my Great Aunt Lyna… Although I can’t remember her exact age (I know mom would know), she is the last of my great aunts & uncles on my mom’s side of the family. She is the tiniest of ladies with a spunky personality… She’s always been the spitfire in our family.

5. What is your favorite DQ treat and/or Sonic drink combo (ie: cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper)?

I have never been to a Sonic before!!! EVER!!!  Now, DQ, that’s a whole different scenario.  My absolute favorite would be a sundae with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and raspberry sauce.  I haven’t had one from DQ in YEARS!!!!  It’s best that it stay away. 🙂

Your turn!! Follow the blog hop and add your link below!!

First Ever Five Question Friday

1. Do you prefer cotton, silk, or flannel sheets?
I’m a cotton sheet gal all the way, every day.  The only time I purchased flannel sheets was when I lived in an older home that had no insulation, old windows and a gas furnace.   I  kept my thermostat set REALLY, really low to save on the heating bill!  Now living on the 3rd floor of an apartment building I don’t have to turn my heat on until December. 🙂

2. What time zone are you in?
My neck of the woods is located in the Eastern Time Zone.  I can NEVER keep the time zones straight.  One of my best friends lives in Washington and I can never remember the time difference… I ALWAYS end up calling her during her work day.  Luckily I’ve stopped myself from calling her at the butt crack of dawn.  A couple of times it’s come very close!

3. What is your favorite part of the holiday season?
Everything about it!  I love the music…. the decorations… making gifts… wrapping gifts… the food… family get-togethers… I LOVE IT ALL!!!  Thanksgiving night I usually start putting up all my decorations, but this year I have to work the day after so I will most likely have to wait until Saturday.

4. What is your favorite “wintry” drink? (It doesn’t have to be an “alcoholic” drink!)
I am not much of a hot drink person…. I LOVE the way coffee smells but can’t fathom the taste of it.  I’ve tried flavored coffee & creamers and it just doesn’t make a difference.  I do love hot chocolate with TONS of marshmallows.  My everyday go to is hot tea… The Earl Grey K-Cups for the Keurig at work are fabulous!!!  But my favorite “wintry” drink would have to be Kahlua and cream…. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

5. In your opinion, what is the worst job in the world?
This is a toughy…. For me I would have to say anything dealing with blood, guts, gore or bodily fluids…. So I’m thinking that while being a zoo keeper would be pretty cool, the cleaning up afterwards wouldn’t be too good.  I could never be a doctor or a nurse even though I love helping people because of all the “stuff”.  I could never be the person that has to deal with road kill (if there is even anyone that does that)… and as the lovely RNP pointed out, dealing with port-a-potties would be a pretty “crappy” job.    The worst though…. for me… would be a Funeral Director or Mortician.  Couldn’t be around that sadness all the time.
